Art & Delight

American Beech sprinkled with a few Spring Beauties

“Not every human endeavor is algorithmic; The design of a pitching machine made by men is algorithmic; the prowess of a Major League Baseball Pitcher is not.”

George Gilder

There’s a wide chasm between craft and the place where art and delight resides.  We make a mistake if we think art and delight can be reduced to a formula, and likewise equally foolish to disregard the role that craft plays in the formation of art. Delight waits on the other side of the chasm, waiting for you to take up craft.
